Half my casualties are from cavalry reinforcements spawning and diving into fat stacks of infantry

The gane actively punishes me for maneuvering and encircling the enemy. Wish there was a way to even turn down the reinforcements. I'll take a 100vs400 fight over a fight where my troops die simply because of bad game mechanics.
