What do you think the strongest perks in the game are?

in terms of overall impact for me I’d say it’s between leadership 250(extra clan party one) and medicine 275. one gives you between 2-300 extra troops and the other makes your parties troops significantly stronger. honorable mention to charm 200 for making starting your own kingdom playable, and trade 300 for obvious reasons. submitted by /u/Miserable-Act4201 [link] [comments]

AWoIaF question

Have seen many AWoIaF mod related posts (about half) over the past few days. I was wondering if it is a good mod to play even if you're not a huge fan of GoT. [AWOIAF] How do I navy?

Hello, I've started a campaign and I'm RPing as Euron. Got myself 3 ships of oak and 150 goodmen as a start and I plan on terrorizing Essos. So I want to know everything there is to navy and ship system, like for example how do I toggle the sails on my ship(they don't show up in a battle), and also recommend me good units for naval warfare, tactics and targets. AWOIAF TweakMB Help!

Literally 90% of the options are greyed out, I loaded the TweakMB database under everything so far and there are still some options that I want to change greyed out, like how much food my party consumes, and troop wages. [AWOIAF] Savegame compatibility issues between versions

Hello! I'm not really that experienced with modding in M&B and used Steam Workshop to play the AWOIAF mod. It updated automatically to 2.0 when it arrived, which made my beloved savegame unplayable. (The error message is the "incompatible number of triggers" or something) I tried to download 1.2 and 1.3 from moddb to see if I could play the savegames in those old versions, but it won't start in those versions either. It might be that a minor version of 1.3 was uploaded to the Steam Workshop and I had my savegame on that version, but that it was not uploaded to moddb? Maybe that makes plain 1.3 incompatible as well? Does anyone here know whether the mod files accessible right before the 2.0 launch (September 26th) is available anywhere? (PS! Spear bracing with troops

So i'm playing a mod called "Warsword conquest", i'm currently with the Skaven Underworld and our enemy, Bretonnia has loads of cav units, when i tried ordering my troops to spear brace it worked and their cav were innefective.But then my troops just stayed idle bracing their spears, i tried to order them to follow me,charge etc...But they just stay idle and get massacred because they can't fight back. Is there anyway i could stop this from happening? Without spear bracing against their Heavy cav my troops are dead in seconds.I also tried other mods with spear bracing and i have the same problem every time, i don't know if my game is bugged or i'm just too stupid to know how it works. So, with the disappearance of the find items thing, we need to put our minds together and figure out how to get these valaryian steel weapons through game mechanics. lyn corbray should have a v-sword, one of the harlows should have a v-sword, dawn should be at... starfall? its not on the last standing dayne. randyl has heartsbane, but how do you get it off him? there are 3 swords in qohor, 2 shortswords OR 1 great sword. where and how have you all acquired your v-weaponry? Any mods with flails?

I think this weapon is super cool but I haven't seen any mount and blade content with it. Im sure theres an eady solution to this but i cant figure it out so any help would be appreciated. My flagship no matter ehat ship it is always remains stationary when entering a naval battle while all my other ships move fine. Ive made sure its nothing to do with ship condition so i can rule that much out at least. So I tried AWOIAF a month ago but didnt have time to play it so now I want to play it again. My plan TLDR is to make a merchant empire and make myself filthy rich and then when I feel ready, I will hire mercs and ofcourse unsullied to make a professianol army and then fight for Daenerys. [AWOIAF] Pirates

Does anyone else think pirates are a bit overpowered? They're not extremely tough one on one but they're cutlasses just attack so fast that if my units ever get in a group fight they almost always lose, even some more elite units. They just get their attacks interuped over and over. Idk maybe I'm just bad but it hurts to lose a bunch of high teir units to pirates. As a free folk freedom fighter, I've made it my goal to have my boys Wun-Wun and Dongo by my side as I dismantle the Iron throne. The only problem is that one of my main sources of income is tournaments. And for as much as I love them, those giants waffle stomp me (and everyone else) everytime. My marshal is fucking moron

He literally does nothing. He randomly rides back and forth across the map. He changes his mind every two seconds about what needs to be done. And even though there's shit that needs doing, he wants me to follow his ass around. Instead of taking and defending castles on the frontier I have to hold this limp dick's hand for God knows how long. No one else heeds his summons, just me. And even though I'm the most productive warrior of our faction and have a good relationship with him, the motherfucker never takes my advice. Says he has other stuff to do. The hell you do. I'm seriously considering defecting to another faction, turning the noble executions Floris mod option on, and going full seek and destroy on Turya's ass. Are Nords boring?

When I first started playing Warband, I was Nords all the way. I was, and still am, a huge fan of Vikings. But I noticed that compared to the other factions, they kinda got the shit end of the stick when it comes to aesthetics. It's all brown and grey. The Nord Huscarl, the most powerful infantryman in the game, is covered from neck to knee in poop brown. Not to mention that the Nords really only have two distinct helmets, and they're both hideous. I was excited to get my hands on a spectacle helmet, only to find it kind of a chore to look at. It looks like it was made out of used tinfoil. Even the Swadians and Rhodoks, who are both based on Western Europe, managed to be visually appealing in their own ways. But it seems like the Nords just got the leftovers when it came to equipment. Question about M&B Warband graphics? Ingame vs Internet screenshot?

So I just bought the game yesterday and played the single player campaign for a few hours - it has been loads of fun! However, why are the ingame graphics so ugly and look so different from screenshots I've seen? I have everything turned up to high and HDR on, but it looks more like TES 3 Morrowind graphics from 2002 than a game that came out in 2008. It looks much worse than the screenshots of Warband I've seen on the internet (which resemble at least TES4 Oblivion graphics or better). Are there mods that make the game look better or am I supposed to buy a DLC to make it look better? I just have the base/native version of Warband and it takes up only ~1.2GB of space. [Silverstag] Neat alternative method for getting Right to Rule

Just to plug Silverstag again - it's great for anyone who likes vanilla Warband but just wishes there could be some more quality-of-life types of improvements. Despite some bugs here and there, 0.26 is quite polished and very much playable. One of those improvements is a very neat quest type introduced by the mod, that allows you to increase Right to Rule in an organic and RP-friendly way that obviates the need to 1) recruit as many companions as you can and 2) send them out 1 by 1 to shamelessly promote you, according to the order suggested by the wiki so that you can avoid short-term inconveniences that arise due to their bickering. In times of war, villages get looted. This is a fact of life in Calradia. However, the villages help each other as much as they can, because as the elders tell you, trade is the lifeblood of the people. [PSA](AWoIaF) When you start a new game, make sure to check Camp --> Options as the game difficulty is set to Hardcore by Default

Title. For people who don't have a lot of time (like me), or just find the mod quite difficult, make sure to set the difficulty option to Normal as it is default set to Hardcore. Need help with AWOIAF 2.0

I have over 3000 hours in warband so I'm an absolute veteran of the game. But with this mod i can barely get started, upgrade costs are so expensive i can't really find any early game way of getting money. Being a mercenary for a faction gives a measly amount of money that doesn't seem to scale with the quality or size of your army. I don't want to dump points into party skills like trading, because i can get a companion to do that later on. The small groups of peasants that i can get, can barely defeat the roaming outlaws and i just end up at an economic loss at the end of each battle. I had a really great time playing this mod ever since the update was released, and I was wondering what other people's fun times were. Here are mine: 1.Sea battle near Storm's End, Stannis + some Vassals vs Stormland vassals that were equal to our numbers, it was a HUGE naval battle, like 800vs800 men give or take, all on ships. I barely survived and had to resort to gangfights to keep myself alive in that mess. 2.Field battle vs Renly It was a literal Baratheonbowl, holy shit, Stannis had more numbers but it definitely came down to a double digits last men standing fight, I ofcourse, had to resort to gang fights once more in order to keep myself alive. [Perisno] Playing Perisno, and I have a few questions I can't find answers to on Google

Some of my custom hired troops from the Mercenary Guild un-equip certain weapons I give them. Anything below Hired Knight on the cavalry tree refuses to hold throwing or ranged weapons, and the Hired Knight refuses to equip a lance. I double-checked to make sure they had the necessary skill requirements, and they do. Is there a minimum proficiency level the custom troops have to have to use weapons? I captured a 'Young Witch' from a tavern bounty quest, and I have no idea what to do with her. No one seems to want to ransom her, I can't recruit her from the camp menu, and the top option in the dialogue screen with her does nothing. (I'm assuming that's due to my low persuasion skill, because I've never had success with that option, on her or any prisoner. Is it a way to recruit prisoners directly rather than using the camp menu?) Should I have just let her escape after defeating her? Viking Conquest: What's the point of infantry when we have spearmen?

My second post on this subreddit, lets see if we can get a discussion going! So i've been playing Viking Conquest for well over 500 hours and I've really immersed myself into the play style and reliance on tactics in this game compared to native and other mods. However, my issue is that of the usefulness of infantry in this game as opposed to their competitor, the spear-men. I found it initial an easy choice by looking at their stats first. For this example we will look at the Norse troop tree, to emphasize how strong spear-men can be. Norse Huscarls, by far, are the strongest unit in the game with 385 One-handed swing speed, amazing armor, power-strike, and Ulfberht swords. While the Norse Hersis are easily some of the worst high-tier spear-men with only 280 in pole-arms, good armor, at long spears. Despite these stats, in a shield wall it seems the Huscarls lose alot of their magic, in my personal experience. An amazing part of the shield wall is the ability for the other...

AWOIAF, Faction specific equipment.

So in the game, certain troops have select gear that I want. For example, the dornish troops have "sun shields", 'shortbows", and "Dornish shields". Specifically I really like the style of shortbow they use where it hangs off the hip, I also really like the shields. Is there a way to acquire these items? The faction specific shop only carries armors, not weapons. I managed to find a dornish shield but only because I looted it from a deserter. Help on Red Brotherhood lair?

So I finally got the RB lair location from a traveler, at about day 300 and level 30. I thought me and the team was the dog's bollocks, but apparently the level scaling on these lair quests is insane. I have the best troops, bar the noldor: Hero adventurers + Barclay sappers, and of course high level (archer) companions in plate. Apparently this won't do though, and I need some specific advice. My team kills the ~20+ enemies at the lower hut and the hillsides rather easily. The distance is great enough, though, that if my companions shoot, we're pretty much out of arrows at that point. During this fight ~10 enemies gang up at the cave mouth, including the Singalian Wonderwomen. The next stage of the fight is on when I prod the group by shooting one of them, and they charge. I have beaten this rush a couple times, but more keep on spawning while killing them. Seemingly always resulting in my group getting either surrounded and outnumbered, or running out of ammo. I'm ...

High spec computer but low fps?

A few months ago I built a new pc and recently wanted to play some mount and blade warband, however, in singleplayer and multiplayer battles my framerate tanks . Specs- RX 480 Ryzen 5 1600x 16gb ram Windows 10 64bit. Ive tried a few different things including- Running the game in compatibility mode with windows 7/8/10 Enablin/disabling load textures on demand Running as administrator "Override high DPI scaling behavior" performed by [System] and [Application] None of these have worked and if I cant find a solution then I wont be able to play M&B until Bannerlord releases. I gave up on PoP

In these last days I've been playing PoP and I came up with the conclusion that it is more of a tactical and strategic mod, that has to be played behind the rows of your army, sending them to battle rather than taking part to it individually, because everytime I try to rush and take part in a fight, I find it much more difficult than the vanilla game, they kill me in no time :/ This eventually got me bored and I'm thinking to just move on to another mod. GT 1030? Would it be enough to run Bannerlord decently?

I'm planning to build a cheap desktop pc to use along with my laptop for school purposes. The only thing I want to be able to do other than the school stuff is playing M&B series and of course Bannerlord is absolutely a must. What do you think about this graphics card? [PoP] Starter Tips about starting a new knighthood order?(Also how are you supposed to make a ton of money)

So im having trouble on multiple fronts really as i never really understood the economy of warband, but really how am i supposed to raise enough money to give my new knighthood order better stats, better armor, and better weapons? PoP Achievements Locked For Cheating

So I used up two of my warnings for this early in the game to finish some very easy battles/ finish off routing enemies because I'm lazy and impatient. No big deal, I cheat sometimes to skip "boring" parts of the game. The problem is that I just used cheats to instakill a bandit lair, because I know they aren't going to take out any of my companions and it's not fun for me. I already had to find the damn thing. Little did I know that this would count as an actual battle, and now I can't get any more achievement rewards. Of course, right after I finished that battle, but before it tells me that I am now cucked, I save. The only save for this profile I have. Is there any way to recover? I think it's really lame that a mod would punish you for cheating in a single player game in the first place. Why do you care if I cheat to have fun...It's not multiplayer! How does Swadia still have vassals after I've destroyed them?

I have destroyed the Swadians. They have no fiefs, and last I saw, Harlaus was rotting in prison. A few weeks have passed in-game, and one of my villages was raided by a vassal from Swadia. Your most clutch moment

I just had mine yesterday. I almost lost my 600 days of warband career to one click. I was running around with my army as usual. 40 huscals and 40 crossbowmen. And rest were just training units. I encounter a bulk of Vaegir army with their king, of 303 men. I try to escape but get caught. And i try to escape by doing an auto calc battle and then leaving. I press surrender by accident. I get my whole army and companions taken. GG so many units lost. Plus jeremus. I head back to Curaw my home town. Take some recruits and head out to train em. Get caught, sacrifice some more units. Loose morale. Was caught 6 times. Exchausted about 150 units in my town. And boom army of Vaegirs is trying to seige Curaw. They have 200 units there. I rush there with my 50 more units and we have a match of 250 (recruits and random soldiers not top tier) with a buck of Vaegir army of 656 men. And damn that was the most epic battle I have ever seen. I knew once I lost Curaw i would have lost it all. No m...

Started playing vanilla Warband recently and I'm not sure what to do during peace time

I am playing as a Rhodok count, was given 2 villages that i'm slowly building up, trying to get on the good side of my king and a few other nobles. Our kingdom is not often at war and I find myself looking for other activities to do in thr meantime. Any tips? Combat Tips?

Hello to everybody except the Rhodoks, I hope you're all having a good day. To be direct, I REALLY suck at mouse blocking, it's awkward and annoying to control a lot especially when it keeps throwing my camera all over the place, but at the same time I see a lot of the community showing clips of them deflecting blows like friggin Jedi. Do you ever stand back and just issue orders once you have a large army? Long time player needs help

I've put in 145 hours into mount and blade so far and I still keep it on low dificulty and do all charge to all my troops...am I doing it wrong? is there a point that you should just stand behind your massive army and let them crush your enemies? Any mods which do pikemen right?

It's pretty easy to just curbstomp everything in vanilla (outside of sieges) by just ordering your army of Swadian Knights to launch a frontal charge. Using combined arms tactics and formations has been fun and often helped me win when my armies have been infantry-heavy, but cavalry still absolutely dominates the battlefield. Even in some mods (PoP) it's just simpler to charge in with the heavy cav and let the infantry pick up the pieces later. Are there any mods which make the game more spear/pike focused? I don't know whether the game engine can do it properly; pikemen were only really good in tight formations of large bodies of soldiers IRL and Mount and Blade seems more focused on single warriors going for hand-to-hand combat. Checklist for starting your own empire?

I'm in the last phase of winning fighting for the Rhodoks as a woman. As soon as I'm done with that I'm going to try and do a PT where I do the same but start my own faction. What are the basic things needed to even start? I'm personally thinking 100+ army, high persuasion, at least 20+ relationship with counts and such to get them to join my cause. Nova aetas questions, does anyone have experience with this mod?

Hey butterlords I am currently playing and loving Nova Aetas, its a great mod. However, i have a few questions: 1: how do i get my cannon to shoot more accurately? I have a veteran cannoneer but he misses all the time. He has killed 1 troop so far. Seriously disappointing. 2: can i get my own faction to use Zendar troops? I like those troops but i couldnt get the option when i chose my title (Archduke for example). Would love to be able to recruit more of zendar recruits. ATM there are 4 villages with them... 3: how do i buy enterprises? Doesnt work for me. 4: apprenticeship. I go to the smithy and he says "ready for work?" I repsond "yes" and then nothing else happens. I have done this 10 times and nothing ever happens. When do i get to craft some shit? I would appreciate any answers. I can't afford an expensive PC and I absolutely love everything about Mount and Blade. I used to play the old Total Wars and was addicted to that series, and I always asked myself "imagine if you there was a game where you could fight in those battles with your troops." When Warband came to console I didn't even care how dated it was, I went on about a month and a half binge. I'm really hoping they bring it to consoles, but at the same time not limit the game because of it. I know that would suck for you PC players out there. Amount of forces to take over a town and town keeping.

I want to take over a second town for my Feast Kingdom. Curaw was the starting point, now I want to take over the closest city of Rivacheg. My allies are pretty weak with only 2 reaching above 100 soldiers. My policy was more trained soldiers vs more soldiers. Plus my Vassals are fucking bullies, that get angry when i save them from a 100 man army. So Rivacheg has 359 soldiers in it. Am I able to take it over with 117 soldiers of my own. Composition of my army is about 45 crossbowman and rest nord infantry with 35 huscarls. I am also able to draft more reinforcements from curaw. My usual strategy for taking over towns was just make everyone hold position and put archers in the back. And when they shoot all their arrows retreat and try again. And a second question. Should I keep the town for myself? I know it may drop relations with the lords even more, but having another town with 1.5k taxes and 3-9k in tariffs would be nice for the warchest. What do I do now?

I'm decently far into native. I have about 85 elite troops in my army and I am insanely rich and have silk businesses in a number of cities. I'm a vassal for the Nords and I am just stomping on other lords in battles. The only reason why I'm still with the Nords and not building my own kingdom is because I need more right to rule (I'm at about 30), and I need more troops. But even with max leadership, how the hell do I get armies to the size of kings? Also, how do I get more right to rule other than sending companions off? [VC] Can't complete a quest

I am to deliver 12 head of cattle to Jarl Halfdan Ragnarsson, as per quest he should be in Readingum however in my game he travelled all the way north to Edinburgh where I met him when I was en route to Readingum. He wanted me to take 12 head of cattle, so I did it and went back to him in Edinburgh but however I cannot complete the quest. Even if cattle is on top of him. Help me! Starting a mercenary warband based on the "Black Dog Knights" from Berserk. Does playing an Evil character on PoP have any long term consequences?

It's a violent mercenary group from the manga Berserk lead by a demon called Wyald. All they do is raid and rape and leave chaos wherever they go. Their own liege couldn't stop them because he feared them. Also, should I make my character overpowered to simulate being an apostle (demon) like Wyald? Having trouble playing my favorite game

Hey guys, I'm really disappointed because it currently looks like I'm not going to be able to play M&B because of a saving error. Every time I attempt to save, the message "ERROR: Unable to save game!!!!!" pops up. Relations with lords

I created my own kingdom and have gotten about 9 lords. My kingdom consists of 2 castles and a town. I am still making money even in the middle of war time with curaw's high tariffs. I believe I have too many lords. With a few I have really positive +35 relation. And one lord with -25. I had two lords with -30 and I kicked them out. One for telling me to stop visiting HIS woman. So I am like gtfo. The other for reaching too high level of negative relation, and basically telling me not to save him in battle, cuz I was kill stealing. Right now I am trying to marry one of the daughters. This will improve relations with 4 lords. Father, son and some random idiots. But what do I have to do about people with really negative relation? How can I raise it, other than grant fiefs? Kicking them out will cause a huge relation drop for others. And I am totally not sure what to do. Also who do I give a castle in this case, one lord is favorable/welcoming for me. And one lord is resentful. Do...

[ACOK] Just had the worst luck ever

Playing ACOK, I'm a new vassal of the reach, married a guy with a castle, easy access to 3 enemy village that is quite isolated. All of them belonged to Tywin Lannister, and I raided all 3 of them. As I was done looting the third village and selling the loot, I'm trying to return to my fief, intending to do some quest and raise it's prosperity. Tywin attacked me while I was fast travelling, and he had 285 troops to my 80 troops. While Tywin clearly outnumbered me, my troops are much more experienced (I spent my early game rescuing elite prisoners from bandits). As I was preparing for the worst, I commanded my infantry to form a shieldwall. To my surprise, it actually does a decent job killing 40 of his cavalry units. With his cavalry gone, I told all my elite infantry units to charge, and they did a decent job cleaning up the remnants of the Lannister army. There's a lot of casualties, of course, but thanks to my companions' surgery skill most of them survived. As...

There's nothing worse than failing so completely and utterly as this

SO! Long story short, I'd managed to build up a small kingdom in eastern Calradia, taking up a few swadian castles, nothing really out of the ordinary here, I decide that, as Swadia is very small, only having two towns left, I decide to take one, I also decide that 'hey so if you have lots of guns thats good right' so, I replace my veteran footmen and infantry, almost all of which at this point are standardised with good helmets, armour, swords and shields, with massed recruits which only have chainmail, a billhook, a gun, and 15 rounds of ammunition. That was my first mistake. My second mistake was not removing the knights from my army, I end up getting intercepted by the king's army at this point, just outside, but we're about equal in numbers, and I have more guns, so it'll be a piece of cake, right?
