Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Please, for the love of GOD, revert the formation shortcut changes of beta branch 1.5.5 before patch releases!!

I don't even mind the radial menu, but a lot of function was removed and even some of the original shortcuts were changed such as shield formations, F6 otherwise known as autopilot, and face formation by holding F2 key. Otherwise a great patch! Sturgia got huge buffs to their units armor (so they actually increase armor value with level)...
